A linguist.

I have to agree with you, as an English-as-a-second-language speaker I'm even more annoyed by spelling errors and other such tripe. We already have to learn both US and UK spellings without mixing them up, we don't need any more alternate spellings to keep track of. Eventually they'll finally unite the most commonly misused words, "your" and "you're", and the world would implode.

And as I type this, the Portuguese government has decided to merge all the different Portuguese languages. Oh what a world.
