True good points. I agree these are all quite scary things for a very potential president. Perhaps it's the very scary electorate I'm most worried about then.

Yes, and Bush gets roundly made fun of for it and has an approval rating of 28%.

I'm sure there are voters who think computer illiteracy is endearing, and I hope the electronic voting machines scare them into staying home. Personally, I'd hope people would vote based on perceived competence and morality rather than vague fondness. I'd mock McCain if he laughed and said he was crap at maths, too. Then I'd put something up on the NewsBiscuit submission board about him feeling confident because almost 1 in 3 people like Bush and only 1 in 2 people liked Clinton.

I'm sure there are lots of people who make the Czech Republic/Czechoslovakia mistake, but those people are usually not making public statements about the region's politics to try to convince people that they should be allowed to run a major nation. I think that in his position, getting the names of countries right is a basic tactic I'd use to convince people I was qualified for a job like that.

Is muddling Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic being old? Bush makes that sort of mistake all the time.

I've got a suspicion that there's a large section of the electorate who will find it quite endearing that he can't use a computer. It's a bit like laughing and saying you're crap at maths - although maybe you're right and that's a bit 1992.

And yet he's the only thing left in Obama's way. The mind boggles.

Maybe we're lucky and he'll forget all about things like Iraq and move on.
