The title box makes it look like you’re calling it “VooDoo”, though really it’s just your writing.
Do acupuncturists wear face masks? To stop germs getting in to the tiny tiny wounds?
(Also, your script told me off for not being able to add up, when in reality I can’t press the ‘a’ key four times, but can add up correctly almost all the time.)
Medical schools are beginning to teach acupuncture and Oriental medicine as part of their curriculum. This means that there is an interest among medical doctors to understand and accept acupuncture as a form of medicine. Medical scientists already know that the body releases a number of chemicals, called endorphins, into the bloodstream. The application of acupuncture appears to stimulate the release of these chemicals, which, in turn, are beneficial in relieving pain.
That rather depends on your definition of “accept acupuncture”: certainly acupuncture is an effective way to relieve back pain. Studies have shown this time and again. But those same studies have also shown that it doesn’t matter much where you stick the needles, so all the mythology acupuncture is based on is nonsense. Medical schools, at least good ones, aren’t prejudiced and will teach any medicine that can be shown to work, regardless of its origins — but they don’t buy into all the nonsense that supposedly underpins it. Acupuncture works better than Voodoo, but only because it got lucky in where they guessed you should stick the pins.
Sorry “Chiropractor San Francisco” but your original name felt too much like SEO spamming to me, so I’ve replaced it with a gentle Googlebomb. Hope that’s fine.
Very funny! But I’m so pleased that some public-spirited soul has gone to all the trouble of pointing out to us that acupuncture and voodoo are separate things, otherwise we might have become quite confused.

Acupuncture is definately not Voodoo.
